May Meeting
- The meeting started with a moment of reflection for Bryan Stout, John Woodburn and George Beretta. Alf Engers spoke about Woody (his piece is now on the Club website – just search “Woodburn”), and Gino spoke about George Beretta. Club members had also joined the celebration of Bryan’s life the previous day.
- The theme for this meeting was Giro d’Italia. Gino gave grace in Italian. The starter was green, white and red. A pink suit was shared by our Secretary (trousers:-) and President (jacket:-). Other members admitted to pink undies, socks, shirts ties or pocket handkerchiefs. And Italian jerseys adorned the walls.
- Our guests were announced and welcomed, and we applauded the arrival of Len Unwin.
- In keeping with the Italian atmosphere, Limoncello was served with our coffee.
- Our speaker was Rob Gullen who impressed all with his record of raising money (£800,000) for charity through his MacRide cycle events. Gino’s vote of thanks reflected the appreciation of all present.
- Next meeting is 14th June
